Turn Around CWI with ICBO Experience
TEAM Industrial Services is seeking a CWI with experience in ICBO Structural Steel Welding/ICBO Reinforced Concrete. The project is expected to last between 3-6 months. Work schedule is 5/10's with some optional overtime. ABOUT THE POSITION: GENERAL SUMMARY: Candidate must have good experience as an inspector in an industrial operation, with specific experience in a refining or petrochemical operation. Works and performs a variety of physical and non-physical duties, usually working in a capacity by transferring from one project to another or from one task to another as required by supervision. Requires the ability to work with and without direct supervision. Ordinarily performs work requiring the exercising of independent judgment. Field Duties Candidate will perform internal and external inspections to determine if a weldment meets the acceptance criteria of a specific code, standard or document. Conduct inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain the mechanical integrity of the fixed equipment of the refinery. Candidate should be detail orientated and be capable of recommending and approving repairs as well as performing visual inspection of completed work. Candidate must be familiar with and certified in accordance with the AWS QC1-96 or AWS QC1:2006 as an AWS-CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) Candidate must be proficient with standard computer software such as MS Word and Excel and be able to write detailed inspection and turnaround reports while maintaining an organizational system of files. Candidate must be capable of climbing, working at high elevations and working in confined spaces. Identifies circumstances that necessitate the use of proper safety procedures and equipment. Properly uses and completes customer and company job related forms and paperwork. Communicates and deals with customers and other parties in such a manner as to benefit the professional reputation of the company. This communication is in person at the plant / job site. Learns and abides by Company policies and procedures. Office Duties Completes all required training, including tests, within Company guidelines. Learns all Company products and services that are available to our customers. Learns and abides by Company policies and procedures. Performs necessary filing of customer and company job related forms and paperwork. Studying equipment leak regulations applicable to location and customer base. Communicates and deals with customers and other parties in such a manner as to benefit the professional reputation of the company. This communication is completed by telephone. Performs other related maintenance or shop duties as assigned by supervision. NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Field Duties Driving company vehicles. Performing cross training. Deliver reports to customers. WORKING CONDITIONS: Field duties require outdoor work in a plant atmosphere. Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel. Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels. Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection. May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes. May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis. JOB STANDARDS: Requires high school diploma or equivalent, technical school or college credits preferred. Must possess certification as an AWS-CWI. Must be thoroughly familiar with welding processes, welding procedures, welder qualifications, materials, and the limitations of weld testing. Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice. Ability to prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines. Able to follow precise directions and procedures of the supervisor on the project. Must be able to walk and climb except when performing non-field duties. Must be able to communicate with customers, supervisor and co-workers.
