Training Coordinator
COMPANY · One of the worlds largest privately owned engineering-construction firms with projects varying in size from $10M-$800M.· The firm has been providing a wide range of industrial clients with engineering, construction and maintenance services for almost 40 years.· Approximately 6,000 employees· Provides services for the following industries:o Pulp & paper, Petrochemical, Chemical, Power, General Manufacturing LOCATION Position will be in Forsyth, Georgia (near Macon) REPORTING Position reports to the Construction Training Manager OVERALL ROLE · Function as the Training Coordinator for project site to include daily interaction with management and staff, classroom training set-up, and administrative duties.o Instruct safety, supervisory, and craft training. Maintain the craft training library and site curriculum as described below. Order replacement material for missing or damaged material. Order replacement curriculum if current curriculum is outdated. Issue and receive materials that have been requested by trainees or instructors. Maintain an accurate inventory of all training assets. Proctor site training and craft certification testing. Develop and maintain the site-training calendar and ensure appropriate locations are available for training. Ensure employees are properly enrolled in the site-training program and explain all documents. Issue and process all BE&K PAST Modules. Enter all training completion information into both the corporate learning management system and local database as they occur. Ensure all training documentation is completed as required by the Birmingham Training Department. Maintain all files in accordance with established training audit criteria. Conduct evaluations of instructors during training sessions to assist them with skill improvements. Plan, conduct, and participate in a monthly instructor workshop designed to promote the development and dissemination of instructor skills and best practices as described below. Instructor evaluation best practices and improvements. Changes in curriculum. Upcoming training needs and requirements. Information Sharing. Suggested site training. Assist the instructors in gathering the appropriate documentation, pretests or assessments, curriculum, and audio-visual equipment for training sessions. Request, using the appropriate paperwork and procedures, all BE&K craft and NCCER assessments. Develop an individual training plan for each trainee based on the results of an assessment or existing training documentation. Maintain and keep current all employee training plans to ensure progress is made. Research and develop specialized training curriculum and courses. Work with the local community college or vendors to arrange training opportunities for site personnel. Complete bi-weekly and quarterly training reports as required. Address monthly site safety meeting to update project personnel on all training activities. Attend staff meetings to communicate with site leadership on all important events and training related activities. Meet with each supervisor on a monthly basis to discuss the training progress and needs of their employees. Regularly schedule opportunities to speak with BE&K supervisors regarding upcoming training events and activities and suggestions for training activities. Maintain Electrical Apprenticeship Standards as described below. Verify and document on-the-job training (OJT) hours. Document training exam results. Proctor and score pass-through exams. Report to Iowa Department of Labor the enrollment, OJT hours, and completion of training for each apprentice.· Work with site manager and supervisors to place employees who are progressing through the training program. KEY EXPERIENCE · 1 years of relatable experience as a training coordinator in construction or industrial maintenance. · Experience scheduling and coordinating training via classroom or project site, evaluations, and testing· Administrative skills to include typing, data entry, and record keeping· Data Entry via web-based database· Communicating with management staff and employees· Managing process such as document/form completion and tracking KEY SKILLS Be knowledgeable in various computer operations including Microsoft desktop applications as described below. Efficiently work within the Windows operating system. Use Microsoft Outlook to send email, schedule meetings, and track tasks. Efficiently use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.· Use Internet Explorer, Opera, Fire Fox, or Netscape to conduct training related research.· Must have excellent group facilitation and verbal presentation skills
