Our continued success and growth has produced a need for a Mechanical Installer position in our Anchorage location.Job Description: Installation of water based fire sprinkler systems, including start up through final testing. Follow verbal and written instructions, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities. Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds. Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 100 feet or more. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with SimplexGrinnell work. Wear appropriate safety equipment as required including hats and shoes.Properly secure all SimplexGrinnell tools and equipment at the end of each work period so as to prevent damage or loss. Review project drawings and obtain all facts necessary to perform all installation activities according to specifications. Complete and submit time reports and other documents as required. Bring to the immediate attention of the supervisor all changes, discrepancies and coordination problems that impair installation activities or schedules. May be required to work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements. Travel as needed. Work with local authorities to schedule and perform required inspections. Perform other duties as directed.Minimum Qualifications: Five years documented experience in installation of fire sprinkler systems. Must have a valid driver's license with a driving record that meets acceptable Tyco Standards. Capable of performing physical labor. Strong organizational skills, positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly. Only applicants that possess the minimum qualifications will be considered. Candidates must successfully complete an employment background investigation and drug screening.
