Contact Email: Apply by Email Fax: 770-483-1655 JobRefCode: REQ # 022517/Sprinkler Designer Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Building Construction/Skilled Trades Experience: 5+ to 7 Years       Job Description   SimplexGrinnell is a global leader in the design, manufacture, installation, and service of a comprehensive array of networked and integrated fire alarm and suppression, security, and communications systems.  Our continued success and growth has produced a need for a Sprinkler Designer position in our Atlanta, GA location. RESPONSIBILITIES:-Design of new and existing sprinkler systems, including preparation of basic calculations and project submittal drawings.-Supervise preparation fabrication lists.-prepare as-built drawings and end of contract documents.-Research and prepare drawings for projects for cost saving and customer satisfaction.-Contract scheduling from design stage to completion of installation at set deadlines.-Review of sprinkler design drawings to allow for greater ease in installation and fabrication.-Stocklist and order all material for fire sprinkler protections systems.-Work closely with Sprinkler Design Manager and staff.  QUALIFICATIONS:-At least 5 years experience in the fire sprinkler design industry.-Working knowledge of AutoCad 2000/2006, hydraulic calculations, stock listing and technical products.-Proficient in the use of personal computers to include operating systems such as WindowsXP/NT/2000-NICET Certification to the highest level that work experience allows and knowledge of SprinkCad a plus.-Special hazards and/or fire alarm system design experience a plus.-High School diploma or equivalent.-Agreement to seek NICET certification, to the highest level, within an agreed upon time period.SimplexGrinnell offers excellent compensation and benefits program, including educational assistance, employee stock plan and matching 401(K) plan.
