As one of the Sales and Service Business Units for Vestas Wind Systems, Vestas American is responsible for the sale and service of wind turbines throughout North America.
We are currently seeking qualified Site Managers who will oversee single or multiple wind turbine sites in order to achieve Service's Mission: To keep the turbines available to produce power and to do so in a profitable manner.
Essential Functions:Tactical Implementation of Service Strategic Plan.Responsible for the site budget and P&L's.Responsible for hiring, employee relations, discipline, and termination of site employees.Responsible for customer account amangement and customer satisfaction ownership for service.Ensures contract compliance.Master scheduling which includes but not limited to, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, crane mobilization, and utilization in a way that minimizes costs and impact to customer and wind power plant, coordination of third party resources, and site manpower.Responsible for liquidated damages mitigation and availability bonus maximization.Implement Turbine Upgrading Programs.Responsbile for Accounts Receivable for the site.Responsible for Inventory Management at the site.Ensure program compliance with the Quality and Health, Safety and Environmental departments.Manages the Continuous Improvement Program.Ensures compliance with the following programs; Fleet Vehicle, Documentation and Employee Training.Oversees the Tools Calibration Program.Manages vendor and community relations.Process the approval for payroll and expense authority, along with local purchasing authority.Maintains employee productivity & efficiency (cost/MWh).Responsble for Employee Service Reporting (ESR).Performs annual performance appraisals and merit increases.Maintain 365/24/7 operational responsibility of the site.
Education, Training, & Skills Required: Associates degree or equivalent.3-5 years experience as project manager, project lead, or other management experience, especially in industrial or construction industry.Technical background.Experience with and ability to coordinate and manage projects.Ability to speak and understand technical language.Excellent leadership and communicating skills.Strong ability to build customer relationships.Knowledge of Safety and Servicing.Ability to coach, mentor, motivate, and develop.Previous budgeting and scheduling experience.Strong negotiating, servicing, and administering ability.Understanding technical drawings & schematics.Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or rotating heavy equipment.MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel.Able to climb & work at heights on high voltage systems in confined spaces under hot, cold, and windy conditions.
Scope:Decision-Making: Significant independent decision-making; makes recommendations, others take action; performs under relatively low level of supervision.Impact: Significant impact; results could cause loss of life, financial loss to the company, loss of customer, loss of sales and market share. Monthly results are acutely impacted.Supervisory Authority: Supervises more than 10 employees often working on multiple projects at multiple locations.Budgetary Management: Full budget accountability.Interaction: Regularly interacts with customers, vendors, outside consultants, outside auditors, governmental regulatory agencies (OSHA) and all departments within the company at all working levels from executive level on down.
