Senior Project Manager
Located in Gloversville, New York, the Delaney Group (DGI) a growing subsidiary of Tetra Tech, Inc (NASDAQ:TTEK) has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Project Manager who will be reporting to and seek direction from the Vice President of Project Management. Senior Project Manager Summary of Position: Project Manager will be responsible for the management and profitability of the project throughout construction and close-out. The Project Manager is responsible for processing all shop drawings, submittals, change proposals, change orders, and back charges; assuring equitable relations with municipalities, owners, architects engineers, and subcontractors; preparation of the monthly requisition; assure payment of requisitions; coordination of the punch list; and preparation of project’s closing documents. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Preliminary Coordinate with Estimating Department in the buying out the project in accordance with the material and subcontracting plan. Insure subcontract agreement scopes are consistent with the bid and quote. Determine and schedule delivery dates of critical shop drawings and submittals prior to the finalization of the contract. Review all shop drawings for content completeness and correctness and submit for approval. Review in depth the scope of each subcontractor’s contract with him prior to his beginning work. Subcontractor meeting. Assure equitable relations with municipalities, owners, architects, and engineers. Assure that all insurance, permits, and utilities and municipal requirements are satisfied before work is to begin. Develop and maintain a submittal and shop drawing log. Construction Assist the superintendent in setting up the office trailer. Ensuring the required items are available at the site (i.e. construction plans, proposal, addenda, schedules, subcontracts, supplies, equipment, appropriate posters governing the project etc.) Expedite all subcontractors and suppliers according to the predetermined schedule. Assure all subcontractor agreements w/insurances are executed prior to them arriving on site. Assure an approved shop drawing or submittal is on hand prior to the installation of any related work. Write and negotiate all changes in the work and back charges and inform all concerned parties immediately in writing. Obtain clear direction from the party having authority to direct changes in the work before commencing work. Coordinate with the superintendent the monthly update of the project’s construction schedule. Assist the superintendent with any technical problems concerning the project. Meet with the subcontractors, engineers, architects, and/or owner to keep abreast of job progress or any potential problems. Upon project completion, work with the owner and/or engineer in drawing up the punch list. Expedite the completion of the same. Keep the Vice President of Project Management informed of the status of the project on a weekly basis as it relates to profitability and progress according to the project’s predetermined schedule. Financial Monitor and report anticipated profits monthly. Submit Cost to Complete Reports monthly. Thoroughly review project budget for accuracy and report inconsistencies. Provide analysis for 30/60 day project review meeting. Insure Payroll Manager, Account Receivable Manager, and Assistant Controller are aware of required paperwork to be submitted, to the owner, for payment release. Confer with the Account Receivable Manager as to the format and timing of monthly requisitions. Confer with each subcontractor monthly to compile an estimated requisition for job to date. Confer with the owner and collect monies due in accordance with the contract documents. Approve all disbursements made against the project, insure proper cost coding for each. Ensure invoices are approved by date determined for monthly close. Monitor labor and job costs as to quantities in place and percentage complete versus budgets to proactively manage project with respect to margin achievement. Assure the scope of each subcontract has been fulfilled prior to authorizing final payment. Assist the Contracts Administrator in the preparation of the project’s closing documents. Requirements: The qualified candidate should have 10 to 15 years Construction Management Experience, experience in Heavy Civil/DOD and Wind Energy preferred. Experience and a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. P.E. preferred but not required.
