Position: Senior Project Controls Engineer 

 

MOCA Systems is a nationally recognized program and construction management firm that greatly improves project performance.


MOCA provides a breakthrough approach to project controls (cost and schedule management) that helps owners more consistently achieve better within-budget and on-time project performance. MOCA professionals use existing cost and scheduling applications such as Primavera(TM) and Timberline Cost Estimating, augmented with our proprietary MOCABuild(TM) software platform, to meet project requirements throughout the programming, design and construction phases.

 

With MOCA experiencing steady growth, we are actively seeking Project Controls Engineers to be a significant part of our program teams.  Interested candidates should have a thorough understanding of construction principles, ability collaborate with a team of engineers to develop estimates at concept, schematic, DD and final phases. The successful candidate(s) will support and augment existing project teams in the development and execution of plans, schedules, and budgets for multiple construction programs using standard cost and scheduling applications augmented by the MOCABuild project controls system.

 

Do you possess the qualifications and experience that this job requires?

 

Required:

· Four-year college degree (B.S.) in Engineering or Construction  Management

· 7+ years of experience in the design, construction or consulting industry

· Ability to analyze and report on contractors' monthly invoices, performance and schedule adherence

· Ability to interface and communicate effectively with clients, team members and clients

· Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel and Primavera/MS Project

 

A Plus:

· Government and construction inspection experience

· 4+ years of cost estimating and construction scheduling experience

· Experience with software applications such as Timberline, PACES, and RSMeans

 

Are you interested and able to perform the typical duties and responsibilities this position requires?

 

· Manage all aspects of a construction program as part of a project control team

· Develop cost estimates throughout programming, design and construction

· Develop and assess cost-loaded and labor-driven schedules using MOCABuild

· Assess change orders and claims regarding cost and schedule impact

· Perform detailed site surveys to verify percent complete against contractors' monthly invoicing Meet with contractors to review and discuss schedules, costs, invoice payments and performance
