Senior/Principal Project Manager

Our Anchorage office has a unique opportunity for the right person to stand as a Project Manager to manage projects and build our business in the areas of water, wastewater, and water resources. As a Project Manager you can expect to manage medium to large size projects, and serve as the leader/manager of project teams, supported by technical task leaders and administrative staff as needed. The Project Manager must be adept at building and managing widely dispersed project teams.Our ideal Project Manager candidate will also become an integral part of our team and spend quality time in the Anchorage office when not engaged in client activities out of the office;foster skills among project staff through mentoring and coaching; understand organization and build an internal network of relationships so as to serve the clients’ needs; positively interface between the local clients and project teams and resources; and have proven success in business development: identifying, establishing, and managing strategic client relationships, translating client needs into client projects, and gathering resources and building effective project delivery teams to help win and deliver work. Consistent with the client service and business development responsibilities of this position, you will be expected to serve as a primary contact with one or more client organizations to ensure that our client has a sustained relationship, achieves complete client satisfaction with our work, and fully leverages our relationships to benefit the client and the firm. You will work to ensure that our client is the client's consultant-of-choice. You will need to understand the client's organization, decision-making styles, and processes. You will not only develop and maintain consistent relationships with key decision-makers at both staff and political levels, but you will also identify opportunities to influence and create the client’s perception of our client. You may create tactical action plans along with establishing and managing budgets for procurements and client service activities. Our top candidate can develop strategies to expose the client to the full-range of capabilities offered by the firm while maintaining an understanding of regulations and other external drivers that may affect the client. You will also be aware of competitors working for the client.Basic Qualifications:Qualified candidate will have: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Environmental or related field and at least 15 years experience. Preferred Qualifications:In addition to the basic qualifications, the ideal candidate would meet the following preferred qualifications in terms of key duties:Masters Degree in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering field. Prefer professional experience in the range of 20-25 years. A P.E. license in Alaska or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire is desired. Additional desired qualities include excellent oral and written communications, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong data analysis & technical problem solving, organizational skills, multi-tasking ability and excellent computer skills (MS Office Suite, AutoCAD).
