Senior Human Resources Manager
The Senior HR Manager will be a strong generalist to provide function areas of HR support to multi-state GRS facilities and the Regional HR Representatives. Areas of responsibility include employee relations, policy interpretation and procedural guidance, investigations, employment and recruitment, wage and hour guidance, and benefits. The position will work closing with the other Senior HR Manager on training and development areas as well as performance related issues. The Senior HR manager will assure compliance with State and Federal employment/labor laws. In addition, the position requires traveling to various locations approximately 40 – 50% of the time to provide support. It will also provide assistance in the daily operation and strategic development of the HR Department by ensuring a variety of essential human resources and administrative duties and responsibilities are performed.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Develop strong relationships with Senior Human Resources Manager and Regional HR Representatives
· Actively partner with Plant Managers and Operations to resolve issues in a proactive, fair and legal manner
· Through effective communication ensure alignment of the facilities with the Corporate Culture and Management Strategies
· Handle complex issues at multiple facilities
· Prepare, recommend and maintain policies and procedures for HR transactions, reporting data and maintaining HR records
· Supervise and coordinate rollouts of ongoing Company programs in the areas of Employee Relations, Staffing and Recruiting for plant locations
· Assist OD Senior HR Manager in the performance review process, succession planning, employee development and training
· Conduct job analyses, develop job descriptions and assist locations with recruiting processes as needed. Responsible for hiring for administrative and management staff
· Assist in developing, maintaining and updating new employee orientation
· Work with HR Representatives to give guidance and support HR processes and policies in their region
· Assist with workers compensation questions, interpretation, safety committees, and training of safety policies while working with operations and the Safety Manager to ensure a safe work environment
· Be actively engaged in employee relations, especially in investigating and resolving possible violations of company policy and/or federal, state, or local laws and employee conflicts
· Review and provide counsel in employee disciplinary actions, sexual harassment, discrimination and misconduct complaints in a timely manner to assess the impact on the company
· Coordinate and participate in benefit plan analysis and assist region HR Reps with open enrollment process
· Provide supervisors/managers with HR related information/reports as requested and keep them abreast of changes in their area and location
· Other duties and projects as assigned by Human Resources Director
Knowledge and Skills
§ Advanced knowledge of laws governing the HR functions both State and Federal
§ Proficient in personnel computer software applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
§ Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
§ Ability to operate standard office equipment
§ Ability to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality and sensitive information
§ Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships and teamwork
§ Excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills
§ Excellent telephone and oral communication skills
§ Must be able to travel by car and airplane
§ Bilingual in Spanish helpful
Education and Experience
§ Ten years+ HR experience and a minimum of 5+ years in a leadership role in a multi facility and/or state environment
§ Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or a related discipline
§ Senior Professional in Human Resources
§ Good working knowledge of principles and practices of HR management
§ Ability to develop long-term plans and programs and to evaluate work accomplishments
§ Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with Plant Managers and employees
