Senior Distribution Center Manager-Atlanta MSC

Provide servant leadership to team members, peers, and all of our business partners. Create an environment where the Hilti culture can flourish.   Recruit, hire, train, and retain for all levels of Warehouse operating personnel. Manage workforce through the performance management process to build and maintain a high performance staff.   Lead and/or facilitate all efforts to strive towards operational excellence with a focus on improving our performance in the key areas of Safety and Quality.   Manage within budgets and continue to seek creative ways to improve the overall productivity of the organization. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:    · Maximize team performance daily with an emphasis on effectiveness (quality) first and then efficiency (productivity) second. · Maintain outstanding inventory accuracy. · Freight expense control and delivery mode selection to maximize service and minimize costs. · Assure proper processing of direct receipts, vendor P.O.s, and inter-company transfers. · Perform all operational functions within planned expense budget. · Assist the Director in the development of budgetary forecasts on a regional basis to achieve a balanced distribution of growth responsibility & thus an effective achievement of productivity goals. · Use analytical skill to research local carrier conditions, analyze results, and develop & implement effective strategies. · Evaluates ROI of creative options in order to make financially sound decisions. · Utilizes outstanding communication & interpersonal skills to motivate and educate team members and to develop teamwork within and outside of the group. · Is willing to take risks and acknowledges that failure sometimes will accompany risk. · Conducts stimulating meetings that offer distribution center team members a voice to be heard and an opportunity to learn. · Is responsible for the talent of the team including training, developing, evaluating, and terminating. · Clearly communicates expectations to team members and then trains & empowers them to take action. · The Sr DC Manager is the process champion for all distribution center processes. Job Requirements: Three to five years of relevant experience managing Warehouse Operations. Excellent communication skills in verbal/presentation and written to all external/internal customers and peer groups. Adaptable to new thinking and business demands – ability to think “out of the box” and respond quickly to changing conditions.   Ability to manage budgets and control costs in a dynamically changing environment.  Ability to be a good mentor for coaching/training  Ability to gather appropriate information and analyze it to develop & implement effective strategies  Ability to delegate duties & empower others  Knowledge of basic computer applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, Access)  Ability to multi-task   Ability to be creative & entrepreneurial Excellent problem-solving & decision-making skills Ability to be a team player Must be able to lift up to 50 Lbs on a regular basis. Must be able to tolerate a variable climate, prolonged standing, repetitive bending, reaching and climbing up and down ladders.
