In this position, a Risk Engineer can expect to assist in the development of a risk assessment procedure for major AP1000 project implementation that takes into consideration the risks in the areas of costs, commercial, schedule and planning.The ideal candidate possesses:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science, plus 10+ years of applicable experience.Overall knowledge of major engineering, procurement and construction projects relating to the power generating industry.Experience in project estimating and cost control.Experience in implementation of projects relating to commercial nuclear power plants.Demonstrated understanding of project schedules.Capable of working with and motivating teams.PMI Certification Requirements: The Major Focus of this Position: Coordinate communications, marketing/project activities, order implementation, documentation, and resolution of technical and non-technical problems between customers and this company in the commercial nuclear industry. Assure that customer needs are met in a manner consistent with their strategic and financial objectives.Required Skills:Facilitate project technical activities from order implementation phase to project completion for assigned customers.Assist project managers in customer organizations and other management personnel in direction and coordination of project office activities.Develop and maintain effective working relationships with customer personnel, up to and including first level management, and understand assigned customers' internal organizations. Serve as the liaison between assigned customers and company personnel to ensure that there is an understanding of customer objectives and expectations.Develop and maintain working knowledge of business unit products/services, industry codes and standards, and government regulations. Assist in development and implementation of marketing strategies and plans to promote products and services.Understand and analyze technical problems and assist customers with resolving technical issues (for example, in engineering, licensing, and QA areas). Work within the company to solve problems to customer's satisfaction, matching relevant Westinghouse products/services to customer needs. Be proactive in anticipating customer needs and expectations.Resolve routine financial issues with customers such as invoicing, suspense, and the additional funding required for expanded work scope and non-routine issues such as warranty, deficiency, and cost/schedule conflicts. Assure issues are promptly resolved internally by participating in implementation of resolutions, recognizing significant issues, and submitting recommended actions to management.Display initiative in resolving day-to-day emergency problems that may arise between customers and various internal groups; respond to identified problems, gather facts, develop solutions, and review recommended solutions with project managers of assigned customer organizations for action.Research and understand customer funding, budgets, and critical needs to contribute to strategic planning and provide marketing direction to respective field sales personnel. Develop routine proposals and participate in contract negotiations. Communicate customer requirements to product lines.Perform activities necessary for order acceptance, implementation, invoicing, and closeout.
