CMC Rebar Virginia is located in Fredericksburg, VA.  Commercial Metals Company (CMC) is one of the largest producing mills and fabricators of reinforcing bars, structural steel, steel joist and other steel products.

Position Summary:  Upon being hired, you will be enrolled in a four month paid training program run by our Technical Center in Lynchburg, Virginia that can lead to a position as a reinforcing bar detailer in our Fredericksburg office.  All temporary relocation expenses will be paid.  Detailers use state-of-the-art computers and software to develop placing drawings for use by ironworkers in the construction of reinforced concrete structures.  You will learn the basics of detailing, project coordination and interaction with key people in the construction field.

General Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Drafting, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Construction Technology or AutoCAD Operator Certificate or 2 years minimum work experience in a related field

* Excellent math skills including:  general math, algebra and geometry

* Spatial orientation of objects (3-D visiualization)
