Project Risk Analyst

SummaryThe Project Risk Analyst plays a key role in implementing the project risk mitigation process and supports the efforts of the financial services organization at the division and the Divisional Controller. Key roles and activities include the following: provide financial analysis, evaluate the physical and financial performance of individual sub contracts, implementation and follow up on risk mitigation requirements, prepare risk reports and assist in training and mentoring personnel responsible for implementing risk mitigation plans.Essential FunctionsReviews and analyzes subcontractor and vendor billings and performance.Interviews subcontractor management and reviews/analyzes Subcontractor Financial Statements.Establishes lines of communication with lower tier vendors to support review findings.Provides input in establishing Risk Mitigation packages for newly awarded subcontracts and purchase orders.Documents construction progress through communication with field staff.Documents billing status for all subcontractors and vendors reviewed.Ensures compliance with required risk mitigation plans.Ensures compliance with accounting policies and procedures and internal controls. Reviews retainage requests prior to release to subs.Travels to project sites or subcontractor facilities on a regular basis (50% of time).Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. Education, Experience, and KnowledgeBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance plus five years related experience.Experience in the construction industry with an emphasis on subcontractors is preferred. Experience working in Finance/Accounting for a subcontractor is preferred.
