Project Manager (Superintendent)

Under the direction of the Branch Manager, this position is responsible for the supervision of the crew of installers and oversees the jobs through completion.  Also controls warehouse personnel and ordering of materials and performs other related duties as required.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Supervises a crew of installers, including hiring, terminating, evaluations and disciplinary action.

· Responsible for training and development of crew.

· Reviews job files thoroughly for completion prior to the start of new construction projects.

· Schedules jobs daily and prepares daily load sheets.

· Supervises loading procedures ensuring that installers have proper materials, equipment and safety gear.

· Dispatches installation crews to assignments.

· Visits job sites and reviews work in progress in terms of productivity and safety standards.  May bid jobs.

· Uses daily load sheets and incoming materials to keep accurate inventory control.

· Orders sufficient materials to complete the jobs.

· Resolves problems as they arise on the job sites with regard to materials, directions and special requests.

· Reviews time cards for accuracy and completeness.

· Reviews WIP and plans future projects, ensuring that materials are available.

· Conducts safety meetings on a regular basis, and reviews equipment for maintaining safety standards.

· Responsible for daily tracking and proper maintenance of truck fleet.

· Responsible for branch’s efforts for zero accidents.

· Abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies and ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Requires three years experience installing within the trade, and one year of supervisory experience.

· Requires two years of college, trade school, or the equivalent experience as a project manager.  (Degree in Construction Management highly desired)

· Ability to read blueprints.

· Requires good verbal and written communications skills and a professional manner in dealing with customers and employees.

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are highly desired.

· Regular attendance is required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

· Standing, walking, sitting, talking/listening, reaching with hands and arms

· Must be able to lift in excess of 75 lbs.

· Up to 50% travel to local job sites
