Professional Engineer
Job Purpose:
Maintains building design and construction by supervising staff; producing and improving architectural plans.
Duties:
* Maintains design services staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
* Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
* Produces architectural plans and take-offs by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results; answering questions regarding construction, drafting, and structural situations; verifying work; conducting training.
* Improves building construction and reduces costs by identifying ways that buildings can be constructed more effectively and efficiently.
* Resolves design and construction problems by providing technical assistance to construction and sales departments.
* Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
* Maintains continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
