Seeking a self motivated individual to work in procurement as a Buyer to support various remediation projects. Basic computer skills, good communication skills and the ability to provide procurement assistance to other departments will be required. Primary Responsibilities: Maintain reliable and competitive sources of supplies and services. Prepare solicitations, evaluate, prepare award determination, prepare and award purchase contracts for the purpose of purchasing material, supplies, and equipment within their delegated purchasing authority. Perform price analysis to determine selection of vendor as responsible, fair, and reasonable. Act as company primary point of contact, charged with the responsibility of interpreting the rights and obligation of all parties to the award. Furnish timely information to management and appropriate departments concerning market conditions and trends, and the probable effect on anticipated material and supply needs and prices. Be alert to changing technology and new and improved products and methods. Ensure that purchasing activities are carried out in accordance with company procurement policies and objectives and comply with project requirements. Monitor performance and progress of vendor to meet award commitment dates, be able to anticipate problem areas at the earliest possible time, and advise programs accordingly. Act as a small business advocate. Maintain and keep current a complete chronological file of all pertinent correspondence, documents, and data for each assigned award to satisfy company procurement policy and audits. Be the focal point for the accumulation, exchange and dissemination of information utilized in the execution of fulfilling award requirements. Provide assistance to other departments in accomplishing corporate and project objectives. Maintain and optimize effective relations with Vendors, project management, and other personnel with whom contact is necessary. Participate, as required, in procurement department activities on an assignment basis. Perform other related assignments of similar complexity, as directed and necessary.
