Plant Safety Coordinator
Schuff Steel, the largest steel fabricator and erector in the US with 10 plants nationwide. We are currently recruiting for a Plant Safety Coordinator for its Flagstaff, Arizona location.
-Responsible for the daily functions and operations of Plant Safety.
-Coordinates and supervises current safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses,
and associated financial losses.
-Conducts safety inspections to identify safety hazards in shops and grounds.
-Administers accident-prevention / loss-control programs and conducts employee safety training.
-Investigates accidents and injuries and prepares reports to document corrective action.
-Maintains liaison with government agencies such as OSHA, DOT, EPA and other regulatory agencies.
-Maintains OSHA LOG and prepares statistical reports of injuries and claims.
-Prepares Worker Compensation reports and submits to Insurance Carrier.
-Maintains appropriate records and files -Demonstrated knowledge of PPE, HAZCOM, Confined Space, LockOut/TagOut, and other OSHA General industry standards. -Demonstrated knowledge of production line procedures. -Demonstrated knowledge of heavy machine equipment as they relate to appropriate machine guarding. -Proven ability to train large multiple groups of employees. -General knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA rules and regulations.-Demonstrated knowledge of other applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations -Associates Degree Required with additional coursework (seminars,workshops) in topics related to Occupational Safety and Health. -Minimum 3 years experience with direct, related experience as a Safety Leadman or Coordinator in a manufacturing environment whereupon safety policies, programs, and training sessions were coordinated or implemented. -Certification in the following areas preferred: OSHA 501; forklift operations; CPR, First Aid, AED, instructor certification.
