Outside Sales Associate

Florida Silica Sand Company, a well-established and highly respected provider of Hardscape, Aggregates and Abrasive Finishing products since 1948 with various locations throughout Florida. Florida Silica prides itself in having a full line of quality products and responsive service to our customers. We have an immediate opening for an experienced Outside Sales Associate for our Miami office.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience in the paving and construction industry. In addition, having a desire to succeed, coupled with initiative, tenacity and an entrepreneurial spirit. The position is responsible for building and maintaining an established customer base and also calling on new accounts. The markets we will be approaching will be contractors, installers, pool builders, masons, architects, and other related markets.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·  Develops and executes strategies to achieve revenue goals that reflect an understanding of market conditions and trends

·  Employs territory analysis and targeted sales and marketing research to identify top prospects.

·  Addresses customer service issues in the field by managing customer expectations and coordinating with inside sales team

·  Large volume cold calling to generate sales leads

·  Qualify and follow up on sales leads

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

·  Ability to close sales

·  Excellent ability to work well with people and understand the needs of customers

·  Consistently meet and exceed monthly and annual sales quotas

·  Strong formal presentation skills

·  Self-motivated and self-directed

·  Knowledge of pavers, brick, retaining wall a plus

·  Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish and ability to successfully engage all levels of customer base 

·  Construction industry experience preferred

·  Minimum 3 years of sales experience

·  Sales experience in the Miami Market a huge plus

·  Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook programs

·  High school diploma

·  Valid drivers license required

Physical Requirements:

Involves occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and traveling over irregular terrain. Requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Requires talking and hearing to express and exchange ideas and the giving and receiving of detailed oral instructions.
Requires lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling 20 pounds maximum, with frequent carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
