Mechanical Reliability Engineer

 

Our client, Reliability Center Inc. (RCI), is looking for a highly qualified Reliability Engineer to educate clients via the professional delivery of RCI’s training content and materials, consulting projects and software support tools.  The position is based in Hopewell, Virginia and requires travel (domestic & international).

 

RCI is a family-owned company that is in the business of providing clients with the knowledge, skills and tools to perform effective Root Cause Analysis using their PROACT Root Cause Analysis Methodology.  The company is committed to identifying chronic failures, exposing and understanding the entire failure mechanism, and leveraging the lessons learned back into the organization. The Reliability Center’s effort is directed at increasing the reliability of equipment, processes and people.

 

RCI uses a series of tools to accomplish effective Root Cause Analysis that include:

 Management Support SystemsRoot Cause Analysis MethodologyMechanical Failure Scene Investigation (Reading mechanical failed parts)Electrical Failure Scene Investigation (Reading and understanding electrical failures)Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA Modified)Human Error Reduction Techniques (HERT)Operations and Maintenance Communication TechniquesPractical and Effective Procedure Writing Leveraging Lessons LearnedPROACT Software Providing a Proactive Environment

Duties and Responsibilities for this position include the following:Consult with clients and offer solid credible advice on Reliability topics.Deliver training on Reliability topics.Author papers on Reliability topics.Participate in creating products that will benefit RCI’s client base.Reliability needs assessment.Lead investigator for PROACT Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

 

The successful candidate with have the following qualifications:BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of ten years of field experience and 5 years in Reliability Engineering positionsManufacturing field experience in Continuous Process, Discrete Product, Batch Manufacturing, etc.Firm grounding in Electrical or Mechanical Materials Engineering with the ability to accurately analyze failed components.Firm grounding in Predictive Maintenance Technology (Vibration, Infrared, Acoustics, Ultrasound, etc.).Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) experience is a plus.Engineering design experience is a plus.Six Sigma Black Belt experience is a plus.Ability to relate to mechanics as well as executives.Possess strong people skills and be able to coach, mentor and influence others.Excellent teaching skills.Effective and efficient communicator, both verbally and written.
