Material Handler

TITLE:   Material HandlerLOCATION:  Buffalo Grove, ILDURATION:   1 Month – Contract to HireREQUIREMENTS AND SKILL SETS  Must be US Citizen, Perm Resident or EAD ONLY- NO CORP-to-CORP High School diploma or eq. Stockroom/warehouse experience  Required  2  Years Operate material handling equip. incl. Forklifts pallet jacks, power tools  Required Pick and Pack Experience  Required  2  Years JOB DESCRIPTION  Receives, verifies quantities and descriptions, issues, delivers, segregates and stores material. Maintains proper inventory control and practices to ensure inventory accuracy.  Operates material handling equipment including forklifts, fork trucks, power jacks, and manual pallet jacks. Stores and issues products from finish goods inventory and/or bulk inventory from stores. Uses PC terminal to document transactions. Participates in physical inventory including conducting counts, audits, documenting results. Will conduct cycle counts. Operates scale counting equipment, UPS parcel post equipment and equipment used in packing product for distribution. Loads and unloads trucks. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. As necessary, provides back up coverage to Distribution department driver. May supply production line personnel with materials. Behavior Characteristics: Ability to function and contribute in a team environment and work with minimal supervision. Good oral and written communication skills in English language. Must be able to lift a maximum of 70 lbs and have ability to climb a ladder. *****Note: This is a fast pace environment. Key focus to get converted to be an SBT employee is performance, and attendance. The amount of errors performed by each temporary employee is monitored, and if it is excessive the candidate will be removed from the assignment. Goal is to be at 100% in accuracy. If candidates have had attendance issues in the past, then they will not succeed in this position.
