JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

POSITION PURPOSE: Working under general supervision, works with divisions and business development team to identify bid opportunities and to prepare professional quality response documents.

 

RESPONSIBILITIESResearch, identify, and track contract opportunities using internet and trade organization resourcesProvide pre-bid support including prequalification documentsCustodian and management of all business development resource material and databasesJob documentation relating to future business development

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Business DevelopmentResearch and obtain pre qualification requirements for various client types with direction and assistance from Chief and/or Senior Estimator or Business Development TeamTrack the status of ongoing projects in the Project Documentation log and coordinate documentation, including photography, web postings, past performance updates etcPrepare proposals, qualification documents and other submittal packagesEnsure that at least one other person is fully trained in proposal production to assist on a tight deadline. Maintain the electronic library of Proposal Elements including Past Performance, Resumes, Job Histories (for resumes), and other boilerplate documentsComplete the Past Performance write-ups within one month of a major job completion  Maintain the standardized pre-qualification binder, Prix Fixe menu, and related electronic files Prepare proposals, qualification documents and other submittal packages

Marketing Public Relations: prepare press releases and gain placement from target publications; create magazine and newspaper submissions, coordinate and participate in sponsored events (e.g., golf tournaments), prepare award submittals, manage events calendar, and procure, and manage promotional items such as annual calendar, give-away items, and apparelManage job photography, including coordination of photographer, obtaining contact sheets, and index all photograph files, prints, and CDs for fast retrievalResearch and write web or media copy for jobs as directed by the Vice President or Chief EstimatorMaintain the electronic library of Proposal Elements including Past Performance, Resumes, Job Histories (for resumes), and other boilerplate documents

Graphic DesignProposals: design and print covers and design and prepare copy and imagery for industry and project profiles Photography: manage job photography, including coordination of photographers and indexing all photograph files, prints, and CDs for fast retrievalSignage: manage signage library (binder and electronic), and design and order signage as directed by warehouse and divisional managers

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Years of Work Experience Associates degree in Marketing or a related subject and 3 years relevant experience (see below) or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Relevant ExperienceSales related administrative work in a construction environmentMarketing administration in a construction environment

 

SkillsExcellent Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsClerical Skills:  Typing 60 WPM, copying, faxing, filing, and telephone etiquette.Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Access, ACT)Ability to prioritize, organize, manage time and delegate responsibility
