JOB COST ACCOUNTANT

JOB COST ACCOUNTANTWe are looking for experienced Cost Accountants for a client in the Tampa area.Candidates MUST have heavy experience within the construction industry.Please apply if you have the background our client is looking for.Key Responsibilities:This position will be responsible for: All job cost accounting matters for numerous public and private construction contracting projects. Establish and maintain strong system of job cost controls, processes, policies and procedures. Produce relevant, timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual job cost/revenue statements and budget variance reports, as well as other reports, scorecards, dashboards required to support and improve project management and decision-making. Maintain and update all job cost budgets and forecasts. Provide management with project-related operational and financial analyses, as required. Perform additional analyses and audits as required to assure adequate job cost controls, reporting and financial performance capabilities. Maintain job cost and revenue accounting records and files. Document, codify and organize approved job cost accounting policies and procedures.  Ensure consistent application of job cost accounting methods, policies and procedures. Develop and deliver job cost training to operational and accounting staff as needed. Determine feasibility of improving construction accounting/management software systems. Assist Controller and CFO in various financial management matters. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualified applicants will enjoy and be effective at working in a mission-critical function, have extensive experience in accounting in the construction industry with construction management software, be a proactive team player, have experience in job cost budgeting, planning, variance analysis, possess a high level of ability with construction management software, spreadsheets and other analytical tools and enjoy a strong desire to succeed. If you are a disciplined and focused job cost expert and you believe that perfection is an attainable goal, please read the additional job requirement. Job Requirements: Possess highest integrity and ethical standards. Thorough knowledge of construction accounting practices a must. 4-year accounting/finance/business degree required. Minimum of 5 years relevant construction accounting/job costing experience. Organizational skills permitting effective management of several concurrent projects and priorities. Must relate to and work well with all levels of organization. Proficient in MS Office, e.g. Excel, Word, Access, etc. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated, able to work in a team environment and excellent attention to detail.
