Interior Architect Description:To provide professional-level skills for the design, estimation, and documentation of architectural floor plans and details for minor construction and renovation projects. Generate designs, develop specifications, and create documentation for floor layouts, architectural interior and exterior systems, and ADA compliance in accordance with all applicable building and life safety codes. Develop architectural documentation and labor and material cost estimates for resources to accomplish construction and renovation projects using standards-based reference guides. Perform programming interviews, gather requirements, conduct field surveys, and document existing conditions for renovation and construction projects. Apply technical expertise in problem solving for architectural construction and renovation projects. Review drawings prepared by consultants. Consult with customers in problem identification/problem solving for architectural, structural, and life safety issues.Qualifications:Required:B.A. / B.S. (Architecture) or equivalent experience. Experience gained through a minimum of 5 years of architectural design including a background in area and room layout, life safety, ADA compliance, and interior and exterior systems. AutoCAD knowledge gained through a minimum of 2 years of experience or a combination of classroom instruction and experience. Computer literacy in PC-based applications, including Windows, spreadsheets, and word processing. Must have the ability to work as a team member. Effective interpersonal skills. Must possess a valid driver's license and applicants selected will be subject to a driving record evaluation and background investigation. Recent experience and application of the International Building Code, Life Safety Code and ADA/ADAAG.Desired:NCARB/IDP participation or equivalent experience. LEED accreditation. Experience gained through a minimum of 2 years of architectural construction field experience.
