The Insurance Actuary will be responsible for maintaining the existing domestic and international insurance program as well as monitoring the Loss Sensitive Deductible Program. The Insurance Actuary will have technical knowledge and one or more recognized designations, such as CPCU, CIC, CRM or ARM.

The primary responsibilities of the Insurance Actuary will be:To gather information for the annual renewal of the Insurance Program. Assists in the completion of applications. Review new contracts to determine if indemnification agreements comply with current insurance program and are in the best interest of M.C. Dean. Make recommendations for amendments to the legal department and work with Insurance Broker to expeditiously execute proof of insurance as required.Responsible for the adjusting of small ‘med-only’ Work Comp losses under the Loss Sensitive Program. Actively participate in the larger Workers Comp/Auto Liability claims, monitoring reserves, coordinating light duty when available, and tracking experience on a weekly monthly basis.Communicate regularly with Safety/Risk Manager and other staff to be aware of new exposures which may need to be addressed from an insurance or self-retention perspective.Manage the accounting of all insurance premiums including deductible billings, audits, endorsements and regular installments.Handle prompt review of all audits on insurance policies.Participate in quarterly review of claims with insurance carrier and broker.Participate in seminars and other training to maintain any licenses/designations and for knowledge and skill development.Stay abreast of trends and products, pricing and competitive insurance markets.Required Experience

Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in related field and/or CPCU, CRM, ARM or CIC professional designation;5-7 years of Insurance Actuarial Experience;Ability to identify problems and recommend appropriate actions for expeditious results;Must be assertive and a self-starter with the ability to influence others. Should have demonstrated effective presentation skills through both verbal and written communications;In-depth knowledge of insurance products and usage; knowledge of insurance markets, insurance rating, rating plans and underwriting procedures;Computer proficient (MS Office);Excellent oral and written communication skills;Ability to deal effectively with insurance broker personnel, co-workers and management; ability to form professional relationships with them;lAbility to effectively lead, organize and manage the team endeavors; assist in priority assessment.
