Tracer’s specialty is in providing heat tracing solutions to our industrial client base. Tracer Industries was a privately held entrepreneurial company that was acquired by Tyco in 2001. It’s an exciting time at Tracer, with the company experiencing unprecedented growth in the expanding Industrial E/P/C market. We are currently showing a record work backlog, with several major projects on the horizon.PRIMARY FUNCTION The Power Distribution team develops designs to supply electric power to Electric Heat tracing systems in commercial and industrial facilities. The Power Distribution Designer shall provide detailed design deliverables for the low voltage power distribution required in small and large heat tracing projects. The Power Distribution Designer shall also learn and apply specialized heat trace design and specialty applications of proprietary heat tracing technology and software. TYPICAL DUTIES 1. Review electrical drawings and specifications in order to design the power distribution and controls system that meets electrical industry standards and codes and customer’s needs and requirements.2. Perform calculations required to meet project deliverables. They include, but are not limited to: electrical equipment selection and sizing, conduit and cable sizing and voltage drop calculations, etc.3. Create detailed project deliverables through a work process which interacts with other groups such as CAD, engineering, panel design, procurement, document control, and project management groups. Attend project meetings with these groups. Project deliverables for a typical project will include electrical equipment, power connection and RTD location plans, conduit and cable tray routing plans, field wiring diagrams, power and control cable schedules, electrical installation details, electrical material requisitions and spare-parts lists, project memos and as-built documentation.4. Provide technical support for field construction personnel from the home office location.5. Field Engineering/Design as required by the project SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE · 2+ years of low and medium voltage power distribution experience. Commercial experience in lighting systems will also be considered. · Knowledge of industry standard and codes, including NEC, CEC, IEC and IEEE.· Some technical understanding of heat tracing design is a plus.· Able to read Plan and elevation drawings. · Familiar with Electrical components and power distribution equipment· Experience with detailed design for refining, petrochemical and industrial plant projects.· Experience in working on a multi-person electrical project team. · Be a self-starter/self-motivated, detail oriented and a good communicator both written and oral.· Experience with MS Excel, Autocad not required but preferred · Be able to exemplify our core values: Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence, and Accountability.· Learn and understand the effect of changes and notify key groups and contacts to resolve change issues.For immediate consideration, please forward a current resume WITH salary requirements to hr@tracerindustries.com .
