HVAC Mechanic Specialist (nights)
This is a night position on Monday - Thursday from 3:30pm - 2:00 am.
JOB FUNCTION: Assist with maintenance and repair of facilities and buildings. Work under guidance of and provide assistance to higher HVAC classifications.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain, repair and assist with installation of the building’s heating, ventilation, air conditioning and associated controls and piping, and other building mechanical equipment such as steam generators, heat exchangers, pumps, cooling towers, etc.Make electrical alterations and repairs (150 volts or below) as required to the air conditioning equipment, heating, ventilation, air conditioning controls, and other mechanical equipment.Respond to requests for service adjustments and other trouble calls.Perform preventive maintenance, equipment lubrication, and daily inspection in accordance with the Preventative Maintenance Program.Institute corrective action and/or inform supervisor of any deficiencies found in the course of performing preventive maintenance.Perform other related work as assigned.Direct HVAC - Grade II, Helper as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Universal CFC refrigerant handling license required.Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions. A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required.
EXPERIENCE: Four years experience in maintenance and/or construction required.
EDUCATION: High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
SECURITY:
Must be a U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance
