General Manager

This position is responsible for managing the organization by providing leadership, support, training, tools and communication lines that will ensure that all employees are performing their job responsibilities to the highest standards and acting as the liaison to the corporate office and the local community.

 

·  Create an annual budget based upon past performance, projected goals, and current and anticipated market conditions. 

·  Review financial status of the operation and make adjustments in appropriate areas in order to maintain profitability and to meet or exceed the goals set for the operation

·  Interview, screen, and hire reliable and capable management staff as the growth and profitability of the operation warrants.

·  Provide staff with the tools, training, leadership, and autonomy to run their respective departments efficiently

·  Maintain proper number and size of crews, including crew leaders

·  Teach manager and crew leaders how to efficiently, and safely perform their duties

·  Maintain a high level of quality and safety

·  Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable company standards

·  Ensure all equipment is kept in safe working order

·  Track the progress of all current jobs to ensure they are finished on schedule

·  Track sales on a daily basis

·  Track the number of appointments set on a daily/weekly basis and look for trends

·  Recommend ways to generate additional business

·  Coach and mentor sales to ensure they are able to overcome objections and have optimal interaction with the customer

·  Ensure that scheduling of sales appointments, production and service calls are being done effectively

·  Respond promptly to customer calls and concerns

·  Performs additional duties as assigned

 

·  High School Diploma or equivalent required

·  College Degree preferred

·  College Degree in Construction Management a plus

·  5 years of Supervisory/Management experience

·  Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

·  Strong organizational and time-management skills

·  Strong verbal and written communication skills

·  Ability to multi-task and problem-solve

2 or more years of construction experience
