SUMMARY OF POSITION:

 

Design Responsibilities:–

 

-          Obtain water flow availability reports by following outlined company procedure.

-          Prepare submittal packages to be sent to Architects, Engineers, Owners and AHJ and subsequent correspondence to achieve design approval and permits as needed.

-          Design Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems to contract specifications, NFPA and local codes.

-          Analyze blueprints/AUTOCAD drawings and perform site visits for surveys.

-          Perform hydraulic calculations, stocklist and order material/equipment for each project.

-          Work closely with Project Owner and Field Superintendent to meet design and construction deadlines.

-          Assist field personnel with design related installation issues.

-          Work with Project Manager of each job to help develop Change Orders as needed/requested throughout project duration related to design and/or field changes.

-          Prepare and submit final job closeout documents including as-builts after final acceptance testing.

-          Attend Job Meetings and Coordination Meetings as necessary.

-          Field check design measures as necessary.

-          Attend Monday Job Meeting weekly.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

§         At least three years of  fire sprinkler design experience (the more experience, the better).

§          Proficiency with AUTOCAD 2008, MS Office, Outlook…etc.
