As an Estimator III, you will:

1. Reviews proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.

2. Prepares discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.

3. Maintains files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.

4. Supports other department personnel as required, may include preparing estimates in other disciplines.

5. Reviews design options and recommends best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.

6. Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

7. Requires minimum supervision when estimating items in own discipline.

8. May independently estimate a medium to large sized project.

9. Must be HCSS proficient or proficient within a 12 month period.



QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• 5-9 years estimating heavy Highway Construction Projects(ALDOT Highway Projects or Large Commercial, Private Asphalt/Grade/Utility Projects) (AL, GA, or FL a plus)
• Must be HCSS Proficient
• Excellent computer and communication skills
• Applicant must be authorized to work in the United States
• Applicant must have a valid drivers license.
