ESTIMATOR - Petrochemical / Refining / Oil and Gas

Preparation of detailed estimates for capital projects for an operating petroleum refinery.  Projects involve all engineering disciplines including process design, civil, structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical instrumentation.  Located in Long Beach, CA, 90801 (Orange County) The Job: Achieves estimating operational objectives by contributing estimating information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change Preparation of detailed estimates for capital projects for an operating petroleum refinery, involving all engineering disciplines including process design, civil, structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical instrumentation. Meets estimating financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Prepares estimates by assembling product requirements; calculating costs; applying margins Maintains pricing reference by updating material, labor, and shipping costs; distributing reference to sales force Monitors pricing by reviewing change orders Provides management planning information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing estimating data Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
