JOB SUMMARY:





Provides CPS employees, clients and customers with a direct communications link to CPS operations nationally.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (not limited to)





Receive all incoming calls via telephone and Nextel direct connect from employees, clients and costumers.  Respond quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations. Write accurate, clear and legible reports.  Communicate effectively with a diverse group of people.  Log and maintain a complete record of calls received to the ICC for service, business and employee time keeping purposes.

 

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: (not limited to)





Comprehend and fulfill written or verbal instructions.  Write accurate, clear and legible reports.  Maintain a positive working relationship with all employees, clients and contract works.  Maintain a through knowledge of multiple facilities and dispatch operations.  Enforce and abide by all regulations of CPS. 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: (not limited to)





Prefer a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma.  Must be able to read, write and speak English.  Prefer experience in central station operations and/or in dealing with the public in a service setting. 

 

JOB SKILLS:  (not limited to)





Proficiency with Microsoft Windowsâ, all Microsoft Officeâ applications and Microsoft Internet Explorerâ.  Work effectively in a high paced environment with multiple phones and other communication devices.  Able to maintain focus for extended periods of time.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: (not limited to)





Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

Must be able to maintain visual acuity and alertness for long periods of time.

Must have manual dexterity to manage telephones and computer equipment simultaneously and with respect to other duties.

Must be able to lift 20 pounds, move and respond to external stimuli.
