DIVISION BIM MANAGER - Union City, CA

 

Division BIM (Building Information Modeling) Manager / CAD Manager

 

Company Location: *Union City, N. California*

 

This position reports to: The Planning Manager.

 In this position the candidate will use their experience in technology and Building Information Modeling (BIM) to improve the quality, practice, and delivery of projects to our clients.  Provide support for Operations in the primary task of planned implementation of BIM in our Southern California office, by providing management of our evolving BIM services including on-going implementation, employee training, production practices and standards, auditing, project set-up, support and reviews.  Assist with future planning for targeting emerging services to be determined such as contractor models, facility management.  Assist in linking BIM to the project Construction Administration Phase for contractor models, and schedules.  Assist in tying LEED design provisions into BIM. Manage and mentor staff and develop project specific implementation strategies and budgets.

 

Education

· High School equivalent.

 

Qualifications

· Expertise in AutoCAD 2008, AutoCAD 2008 MEP, Revit, Navisworks

· Ability to work with HVAC and Plumbing Design Engineers to develop company BIM/CAD Standards

· Ability to install and customize software

· Working knowledge of LISP, VBA, 3D Studio Max, Adobe Products, and SolidWorks a plus.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Responsibilities:

· Provide end user support and serve as resource for project teams

· Format and lead group training sessions

· Perform drawing audit

· Troubleshoot BIM / CAD coordination issues

· Update BIM / CAD Standards

· Regularly review the newest software and technology and make recommendations for technology updates
