DC Tunnels Maintenance Planner

 

VMS, Inc. is a national infrastructure (roads, bridges, tunnels, etc.) operations and maintenance company that pioneered the concept of outcomes-based contracting for governments.  VMS currently provides a full range of maintenance services for thousands of miles of roadways, bridges and tunnels across the US including the longest (2.5 miles) multi modal tunnel in the United States.

 

VMS is looking for a full time Maintenance Planner for our DC Tunnels asset management contract.  The position requires a good knowledge of multidisciplinary maintenance and construction work.  Experience in road or tunnel construction or maintenance will be highly regarded.

 

Duties and responsibilities:  The planner is responsible for creating, tracking and closing work orders for maintenance and refurbishment work using the project computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).  The planner maintains the major work and refurbishment schedule for current and planned upgrades and special projects.  The planner uses established equipment and materials suppliers to ensure timely delivery of equipment and parts ensuring contractual repair times are met.  The planner uses detailed CMMS records to prepare a variety of contract management reports. 

 

Qualifications & experience: Minimum three years planning experience on multidisciplinary projects.Ten years general experience in a construction / maintenance fieldGraduation from an accredited university with a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field highly regarded.  Degree requirement can be substituted by technical trade qualification with  planning experience.Excellent computer skills including thorough knowledge of CMMS principles and MS Project.Good understanding of basic maintenance and construction work methodsExcellent communication skills
