Essential Duties / Responsibilities: Management oversight for all packing & shipping operations. Acts as the plants communication clearing house between operations, quality, commercial and logistics departments. Equipment maintenance. Perform all tasks in a safe and professional manner. Keep all work areas safe, clean, and orderly. Conform to plant rules and company policy. Participates in plant overhaul outages. Perform all necessary inspections when operating, starting, stopping, or checking equipment. Generates computerized bills of lading and dray tickets for package, bulk trucks and rail shipments. Ensure that railcars are properly position form loading. Checks quantity of bags to be shipped. Ensure that bracing for bag shipments is properly executed. Checks bags for weight. Ensure that counter weights on machines are properly adjusted as needed. Responsible for physical inventories of product and materials. Change, set up, and adjust equipment as required by current operating procedures. Ensures that the plant maintains product quality standards including clean, presentable, unbroken bags with appropriate contents and amounts. Informs other members of the management and/or other appropriate personnel immediately when product quality issues arise. Represents the company to employees of outside transportation companies and customers. Treats all visitors and customers professionally with friendly, customer-service oriented attitude. Packhouse Housekeeping. Schedules overtime and vacations. Prepares the weekly work schedules. Attends and participates in communication meetings and training classes. Trains other employees as needed. Oversees the operation of the cement bagging and palletizing equipment. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to physically perform the essential job functions for the position including inspection and operation of packing equipment, lifting of cement bags and pallets, etc. Positive customer service attitude. Be able to work all hours and shifts including weekends and holidays. Completion of MSHA Miner Training. Computer literate. Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Applied Science or a related field. At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
