Controller

Growing entrepreneurial private company is looking for a Controller to join the Executive Management Team and provide exceptional financial leadership to assist us in our continued growth.

 

The Controller will work very closely with the President to provide leadership and management to ensure that the mission and core values of the Company are being accomplished throughout the organization.  This position provides an exceptional opportunity for a candidate who can make an impact and help the Company maximize its full growth potential.  It is the opportunity to become a business partner of the President.

 

Responsibilities of this position include managing the day-to-day accounting functions as well as budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning for growth.  The ideal candidate will have solid and strong financial knowledge and experience with an insight into operations, be willing to jump in, roll-up the sleeves and do any tasks required to get the job done and have a strong work ethic.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  Prepare and issue monthly financial and operational reports, including income statements, cash flow statements and balance sheets. Develop credibility for the accounting group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the President and Executive Teams in performing their responsibilities. Provide operational insight and management assistance for the Company. Work closely with the President to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the company. Prepare short-term, quarterly and annual operating plans and look to continue to grow the business. Develop and manage capital budgeting and financial planning processes to ensure they are linked with the corporate strategy and overall business goals. Manage and oversee the accounting department and continue to develop and mentor the staff members to further strengthen the Company’s structure and foundation. Develop and monitor benchmarks and metrics and be a key leader in search for improvements within the Company’s operations through the use of financial indicators. Review reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals and suggests methods of improving the planning process as appropriate. Develop a reliable cash flow projection. Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the Company.

 

 

Experience and Education Requirements

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following combination of skills and characteristics:

 

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; MBA with an emphasis in accounting or finance is preferred but is not required.

·         CPA is preferred but is not required.

·         Minimum of 10 years experience with experience as a Controller, CFO or lead finance or accounting manager including a minimum of 5 years in a management capacity.

·         Has demonstrated strong management capabilities.

·         A strong financial background with an insight into operations.

·         Excellent organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple projects at once and a sense of urgency and attention to detail.

·         Ability to work in a small office environment, take an active “hands-on� role and accept a variety of tasks required to achieve our goals and objectives.

·         Ability to effectively express themselves by communicating both verbally and in writing.
