Continuous Improvement Manager
The Continuous Improvement Manager oversees the improvement and quality efforts for the Central Region. Responsibilities include program development and implementation, training and coaching employees, and facilitating change throughout the Region. This individual will lead problem solving and process improvement activities that define problems, identify gaps in performance, gather data, decide on solutions, implement improvements, measure results and ensure changes are sustained.
Work in concert with Senior Management identified goals to develop, implement, and maintain a continuous improvement program based upon LEAN principles that enhance all aspects of Central Region performance (customer value, quality, productivity and safety). Work with the Line-of-Business Directors to focus on continuous improvement activities within their business units. Per Line of Business, initiate a predetermined number of Improvement Workshops on a yearly basis. Help facilitate the one page (A3) planning process for all Lines of Business and Central Region Support Groups, including Safety, Business Administration, Equipment, Claims & Contracts. Work closely with management to establish sustainable LEAN practices that empower employees, accelerate change, and enable personal and team development. Develop and maintain a reporting process for continuous improvement projects. Perform regular updates on the progress of the teams and their achievement against key metrics. Serve as a change agent to challenge existing processes in place. Use data to communicate and support the opportunities that exist. Build and enhance quality management systems focused on customer satisfaction, business process standardization, reliability and effectiveness. Interface with clients and work closely with project teams to establish program specific processes that effectively comply with customer quality requirements. The Manager will be required to travel to customer and project locations, as well as to Central Region H&M offices in the Mid-west and Southeast. 5 years or more in the utility or construction industry preferred. 5 years in an operations management and/ or business systems management capacity. Individual will have experience in LEAN methodology, the Toyota Production System or Continuous Improvement Must have experience in running Kaizen Events 4 year college degree preferred and industry related courses and certifications LEAN Construction Management, Contracts Management and /or Project Management Training preferred.
