Construction Superintendent

Description:Construction Superintendent for a Federal Project Needed. Job Purpose: Completes construction projects by scheduling materials, equipment, and personnel; monitoring progress; enforcing code and safety regulations; supervising staff and sub-contractors.Duties:* Accomplishes work requirements by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and coaching employees; supervising sub-contractors.* Meets construction work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving operational problems; identifying work process improvements.* Meets construction budget by assisting the preparation of change order estimates; monitoring expenses; implementing cost-saving actions.* Plans construction projects by studying blueprints; ordering and scheduling materials and equipment.* Monitors construction projects by confirming instructions for carpentry, plumbing, electrical, concrete, painting, and related trades; conducting inspections.* Prevents fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes.* Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.* Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Skills/Qualifications:5 years minimum experience working as a construction superintendent on Government and commercial projects required.   Power Tools, Estimating, Verbal Communication, Informing Others, Scheduling, Planning, Quality Management, Developing Standards, Supply Management, Production Planning, Quality Focus .  Must be computer literate and able to fill out daily job status reports.   Must also have knowledge and experience in forming and pouring structural concrete.  Security Verification: Its an absolute requirement  that the successful candidate is able to pass a 10 year security background check for the Department of Homeland Security
