Construction Safety Manager (Power Projects)
Responsibilities
We are looking for mid-level (3-6 years) safety professionals who are eager to learn and join a team building some of the most challenging power plant construction projects in the country. Kiewit is a leader in construction safety and has a record of consistently out performing the industry. At Kiewit, Safety is always first. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Identifying hazardous workplace conditions
- Safety procedures and regulations training
- Root cause accident investigation
- OSHA compliance and reporting
- Worker Compensation claims management
- MSHA / OSHA experience is preferred
Must be able to travel across the US and or relocate as needed, meet deadlines and contribute to a positive, safe, high-quality culture. The construction industry is a fast-paced environment that requires decision-making and problem solving skills.
Qualifications
Required
Undergraduate degree in Occupational Health and Safety OR equivalent degree/work experience.
Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Strong organization and time management skills.
Strong work ethic. Willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
The ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment.
Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
