Job Description Civil Superintendent CIVIL SUPERINTENDENT Assigned to a field construction organization in a supervisory capacity. Responsible for supervising and directing operations within assigned discipline or area. Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.On a large project, schedules and directs the sequence of work for several crews of related crafts operating within a single area. On a small- to medium-sized project, coordinates and directs multi- discipline craft activities within a specific area of the project, or all related crafts of a single discipline covering all areas of the project. Promote safety as a value and ensure all work activities meet the clients ES&H requirements and objectives Determines manpower requirements for assigned work responsibilities Supports project Quality, Cost and Schedule requirements Establish tool and equipment requirements for all site civil activities Provide direction and supervision for subordinate personnel within assigned area of responsibility Provide input to construction schedule Coordinate activities with all disciplines and client representatives Ensures assigned construction activities are executed in compliance with all applicable Bechtel work processes and procedures Generates Field Material Requisitions (FMR's) as required for tools, equipment and materials.Basic Qualifications: -Journeyman Craftsman plus 10 years Craft Supervision Experience; or Civil Engineering Degree and 10 years Related Work Experience; or 15 Years Equivalent Directly Related Work Experience -Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and must have a basic level of computer proficiency. -Candidate must also have experience in generating and maintaining resource-loaded schedules; determining manpower, material, equipment, and tool requirements; and supervising subordinate superintendents, General Foremen, Foremen, Technicians, Craft Labor, subcontract and administrative employees. -Candidate must have the ability to work closely in multiple disciplines with field engineers, and other superintendents. -Must be able to work a flexible schedule and support extended hours as the project requires. -Must have right to work and remain in the United StatesPreferred Qualifications: -Journeyman Craftsman plus 15 years Craft Supervision Experience; or Civil Engineering Degree and 15 years Related Work Experience; or 20 Years Equivalent Directly Related work Experience
