Overview of Responsibilities:Provide the leadership and energy necessary to motivate staff and achieve goals Follow project delivery procedures and standards in compliance with client and division-specific guidelines Operate AutoCAD/Civil 3D and various other software applications Prepare project scope, schedule, and fee for review by operations manager Prepare design plans for projects he/she leads or tasks assigned to Prepare and process construction plans for approval Prepare supporting calculations, construction specs, and permitting for residential and commercial projects in various jurisdictions Complete design calculations Research code requirements and design procedures manuals Verify design computations and plan detailing for conformance with codes, manuals, and design considerations Visit project sites to review conditions, as appropriate Coordinate with other engineers, technicians, and administrative assistants during preliminary and final plan preparation for conformance to standards and code requirements Prepare draft correspondence, technical specifications, and reports Communicate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to project Coordinate final design computations with review agencies Coordinate utility disposition on projects with involved utility companies Assure project team members are constantly informed of project status (scope, budget, and schedule), project changes, etc Identify and or resolve issues which will impact negatively on project quality, schedule, and profitability Assist business development and operations team with proposals and client development, when requested Position the company for repeat work with existing clients and new work with others Recognize the performance of team members and contribute to project team member performance appraisals Prepare draft cost estimates, periodic reports covering construction activities, pay estimates, and data necessary to document acceptability of materials and quantities for final payment Prepare estimates of company fees on assigned projects Develop and gain approval for project budgets Approve expenditures included in the project budget and keeping supervisor and/or manager informed by routing appropriate expenditures through him/her prior to submission to Accounting Direct rework on substandard project products or parts thereof Negotiate and recommend signing of contracts, changes in contract scope, and contract modifications Negotiate and sign task orders on open-ended, indefinite delivery or indefinite quantity contracts Mentor less experienced staff Signature authority for project correspondence, except contract documentsRequired Skills



Qualifications:  5-7 years experienceBachelor's Degree in Civil EngineeringP.E. license5 years experience with related land development civil engineering projectsExpertise with preparing site layout, grading, drainage, paving, and utility design for land development projects. Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
