Chief Information Officer

For the past quarter century, Judlau Contracting has been a leader in the heavy construction industry specializing in capital improvement and public works projects. Our work runs the gamut from highways to subways, tunnels to subsurface utilities, roadways to bridges, electrical and signal work to environmental remediation projects. We are looking for individuals who can apply their knowledge, experience and skills to long-term employment. 

 

The Judlau Companies are now seeking a Chief Information Officer to be based out of our location in College Point, New York:   

 

Position Overview: The position of Chief Information Officer is established to direct, plan, organize and control all activities of the MIS Department and to ensure the effective, efficient and secure operation of all automated data processing systems.

           

Primary Job Functions: Provides employees with top quality, consistently-available computer service, support training and maintenance of all computer systems used throughout the organization; Responsible for procuring, installing and maintaining all computer hardware and software and all other products and supplies necessary to keep computer systems operable and to fulfill management’s requests for computer support; Acts as liaison between hardware and software suppliers and management for informational updates and problem resolution; Creates, maintains and enforces written policies and procedures regarding all computer operations in the MIS Department and throughout the organization; Compiles and reviews records to determine department productivity, quality of output and cost of service; develops methods to continually improve results; Evaluates new equipment, software and processes continuously, recommending changes as appropriate, and supervises their installation; Performs all functions of personnel management of department employees; Writes department annual budgets and administers funds according to budget approval; Maintains security of all data proprietary to the organization and provides for the complete backup of all computer systems in case of system failure or disaster.

 

Other Job Functions: May perform other duties as assigned; The position is responsible for participating in the business analysis, requirements definition, development, testing, documentation, maintenance, and improvement of business applications / systems; Responsible for all aspects of information security throughout the company and will be responsible for ensuring our environment and processes are secure and in compliance with all relevant government regulations and contractual obligations.

 

Qualifications and Requirements: Experience directing employees; In-depth and complete knowledge of all aspects of data processing; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to analyze and solve problems; Ability to prioritize and organize.

 



Education and/or Training (degrees, licenses, certifications) BS degree in Computer Science and at least 7 years work experience in all phases of computer operations.
