Carpenter Grade II

JOB FUNCTION: Performs routine tasks within trade and assists Carpenter Grade I as assigned.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Performs minor carpentry construction work such as ceiling tile, floor tile and carpet installation.Perform minor building and grounds carpentry maintenance such as ceiling tile, floor tile and carpet replacement.Hangs pictures, signs and other minor fixtures as directed.Under direction of Grade I Carpenter performs general work order completion such as general masonry, concrete, demolition and debris removal.Perform related work as required.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Possess general knowledge of the carpentry trade.Must be able to operate small power tools and machinery as required.Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.A willingness to work shift if necessary,  including days, evenings, and nights as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

 

EDUCATION:  High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required.

 

EXPERIENCE: Two years experience in trade or building maintenance.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Ability to read blueprints.Ability to write correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

SECURITY:

Must be a U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
