Chief Accounting Officer

 

Major Real Estate Developer / Homebuilder is seeking a tier 1 candidate to join their team.  The ideal candidate will be an MBA/CPA preferred with a combination of Big Four practice management and Real estate development industry experience preferred.  Strong technical and financial accounting skills are paramount.  The selected individual will possess superb communication and leadership skills, the ability to inspire and motivate large teams of individuals, and be able to maintain a very high level of discretion and confidentiality.  We are seeking the very best candidate available. Ideal candidate will be a highly polished and accomplished individual who has the ability and skill to move up in the company quickly.   Our client is a very large, privately held organization with significant holdings in the Real estate development industry and the executive they seek should be comfortable supervising and overseeing through others all financial, accounting, tax, audit, planning, administration,  functions.  Exceptional compensation and benefit package including a base salary in the $300K range, and significant bonuses. Job Duties:
Accounting Department Management

·  Manage personnel in the Accounting group including responsibility for all performance plans and appraisals.

·  Lead staff in monitoring and reviewing departmental policies and procedures to ensure they are current and being complied with.

·  Establish and maintain effective internal controls to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

·  Collaborate in hiring and mentoring accounting staff.

Management Reporting

·  Timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statement preparation for all domestic and international sites.

·  Coordinate all worldwide consolidations including analysis of inter-company accounts.

·  Balance sheet accounts are maintained, analyzed, and reconciled on a monthly basis with all issues reviewed and resolved timely.

·  Work with outside audit staff, both domestically and internationally, to ensure proper US GAAP reporting.

·  Collect, prepare and report all appropriate data for outside tax staff for preparation of all tax returns.

Minimum Requirements:

·  Minimum 8 years accounting operations experience.

·  Minimum 3 years management experience.

·  Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Required.

·  CPA or MBA highly preferred.
