Job Purpose:
Plans purchases by identifying suppliers; obtaining best cost, quality, and credit terms conditions; procuring materials and supplies; and arranging delivery.
Duties:
* Develops vendors and maintains a professional relationships with them. * Obtains quotes by forwarding materials and supplies requirements to supplier; evaluating alternative materials and supplies.* Places orders by negotiating price, terms, and delivery of materials and supplies.* Arranges delivery of materials and supplies by providing location and direction to construction sites.* Resolves delivery discrepancies by comparing purchase order to delivery documentation; obtaining credits and refunds.* Improves quality results by analyzing materials, supplies, and vendor reliability; recommending changes.* Reduces costs by evaluating alternative materials and supplies; negotiating pricing and terms.* Updates job knowledge by participating in trade shows and educational opportunities; reading technical publications.* Accomplishes purchasing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.Skills/Qualifications:
Purchasing & Negotiation, Supply Management, Vendor Relationships, PC proficient with MS Office skills, Planning, Quality Focus, Productivity, Judgment, Attention to Detail, Experience in the construction industry (preferred but not required), & Bilingual in Spanish.
