The Phoenix District conducts its operations through Kiewit Western Co. subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation. We build highways, bridges, runways, transit systems, power plants, dams, tunnels, and water and wastewater treatment plants across Arizona, Nevada, California, Utah and Idaho.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be capable of leading project pursuit efforts from early opportunity identifications and client cultivation to proposal preparation and interview/closure. Preference will be given to someone with a strong understanding the construction industry or rail construction operations, also to those who have existing networks and history of success securing major projects. Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communications, and presentation skills are essential. Need some experience or the ability to understand the details of performing large civil construction projects.
Summary of Responsibilities:
* Encompasses developing leads, pre-proposal visitations, and proposal preparation coordination with technical staff, presentations and negotiations
* Maintain and expand relationships with current and future clients, architects, consultants and other business and community organizations
* Identify current and future opportunities in the Southwest that meet the goals and objectives of the Kiewit Western in market sector of heavy civil
* Initiate client follow up on current projects and new leads.
* Coordinate activities with the Area Manager and other Business Development and Marketing staff
* Aid in the development of proposals, interviews, and other marketing materials
* Serve as a company role model in business and community
Qualifications
The Business Development Manager, based in Phoenix, AZ, will focus primarily on heavy civil markets. Primary responsibilities will be to identify project opportunities in the Southwestern Region of the U.S. In addition, he/she will work collaboratively with the Business Development Team and the Marketing Team to grow the market. This will include assessing the potential markets, targeting key clients, developing proposals and interview, and promoting Kiewit within the regional marketplace.
The ideal candidate will be team-oriented with a strong marketing, construction or engineering background. The overarching focus will be in developing new client relationships and projects throughout the region. The candidate will be required to develop, cultivate and maintain professional relationships with the industry market.
Minimum of (5) years of experience in Construction Business Development. Preferably in Heavy Civil Markets.
