General Summary:This position is responsible for the administration and delivery of health, welfare and retirement programs that serves the best interests of the company and employees in fully utilizing the benefits which are being provided.Essential Functions: Research and evaluate company benefits with those of competitors in order to recommend improvements and new programs which strengthen the options provided. Identifies strategies to improve employee communication and education so that the value of the benefit programs is fully understood. Ensures plan documentation, contracts and amendments are in compliance with federal and state reporting and disclosure requirements. Manages the annual open enrollment process to ensure effective communication regarding benefits changes and timely processing of employee elections. Manages relationships with brokers, consultants, insurers and vendors to ensure timely customer service and accurate cost-effective plan administration. Develops and implement programs which promote employee health, wellness and contribute to increased productivity and reduced costs. Implements and maintain effective internal policies, procedures and controls to ensure accurate and timely processing and tracking of benefit transactions. Identify opportunities to automate benefit administration and processing which improve service levels, increase efficiency and control costs. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree is required.Required Work Experience: 10 years progressive experience in the analysis, design and administration of benefit programs. Experience in contract negotiation with vendors. Experience with HRIS systems. Experience in managing a professional staff. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: A team player Superior analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent consultative and communication skills. Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Customer service orientation. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management. Knowledgeable with ERISA and DOL regulations. Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Excel. Physical Demands: Sit and Stand. Use of hands to type, handle objects and paperwork. Use close vision and be able to focus.
