Auxiliary Equipment Operator - State Line Energy

It all starts here, with you.The Auxiliary Equipment Operator at State Line Energy is responsible for the handling of coal and coal by-products at a coal-fired power plant in Hammond, Indiana. Duties include:- receiving coal and transfering the coal to outdoor storage piles and in-plant bunkers- maintaining the fuel handling equipment to produce a clean and safe environment in the plant- regularly inspecting and lubricating equipment as required to minimize maintenance- operating mobile and stationary equipment required to handle coal to bunkers and dispose of coal by-products- performing other duties as requested or assignedQualificationsThe ideal candidate for the Auxiliary Equipment Operator position has the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:- experience operating heavy equipment (D-10 sized bulldozers)- experience with locomotives including experience as a switchman - experience in material handling- power plant experience - ability to work a rotating shift including nights, weekends, holidays, and scheduled/unscheduled overtime
Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Working Conditions:
Will work in confined spaces, dark areas, and around dust, greast, oil, fumes, and heat 76%-100% of work time. Will work around loud noise, operating machinery, and in all weather condiditons to include rain, snow, sleet, ice, hail. Work will require working from high elevations, climbing stairs & ladders, working from a scaffold, wearing a respirator, lifting a minimum of 50 pounds and operating mobile equipment. Must be able to work independently and in team environments.

Preferred: a basic, working knowledge of computers.
