Assistant Director of Training
Job Purpose:
Provides support to the Director of Training by performing related administrative and educational duties.
Duties: Provide staff support to apprentice training program advisory committees. Maintain and develop electrical and/or telecomm curriculum for apprentice and journeyperson level training programs. Assist in the operational management of three apprentice training programs, including: the assignment and supervision of instructors, conducting student performance evaluation and making recommendations for corrective action where indicated, maintaining student records in conjunction with clerical staff. Assist in managing shop, classroom and other educational areas ensuring that adequate instructional materials are inventoried for students and instructors and the educational environment is always optimized. Assign apprentices to affiliated contractors for on-the-job training opportunities and to communicate with contractors to monitor apprentice performance. Advise students individually on their standing in the program and advice them of their responsibilities and the resouces available to assist them. Additional duties may be assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
Written, verbal and presentational communication skills, knowledge of the organized electrical and/or telecomm construction industry, professional and clerical supervisiory capabilities, vocational education or corporate training proficiencies, technical leadership and vision.
