Asphalt Plant Operator (190886-854)

DescriptionAn opening is currently available for an Asphalt Plant Operator who will work in a team environment in our Hot Mix Asphalt Plant in Alexandria, Virginia for Virginia Paving Company.Qualified candidate will operate automatic and manual controls to deliver and weigh specified quantities of aggregates and asphalt cement to dry, heat, mix and dump into trucks for delivery. Maintain proper heat in dryer by adjusting thermostat controls and flow of material. Performs mix extractions, takes hot bin sample, takes material gradation tests and runs moisture content sample, as necessary, in the absence of a plant inspector or Asphalt Plant Supervisor. Assist in the maintenance, repair and housekeeping of all plant equipment. Programs and inputs information to computer controls, where applicable. Operates truck scales, reads weights, computes net quantities, prepares and issues tickets, records weights, maintains records of receipts and shipments of all material. May perform other related duties as required by the Asphalt Plant Supervisor.
