Administrator and/or Expediter needed for Construction Estimating and Bid Procurement Department
OVERVIEW:
General Contractor is seeking applicants for an entry level position in the Estimating and Bid Procurement Departments. This is a fast paced and deadline driven position where the applicant will work with and assist an Estimator to solicit subcontractor trade bids for 8-10 construction projects at a time. This is a full time position with a full benefit package. This position requires good communication skills, a lot of phone work, and strong administrative skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a career-seeking applicant.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Job Responsibility for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Solicit bids by inviting subcontractors (electricians, plumbers, painters, and other trades) to quote projects throughout the United States.  This includes communicating with familiar companies and cold calling new subcontractors in the region where the project is located.
*Â Communication with landlords to verify conditions and requirements for project sites.
* Assemble bid packages. This includes folding drawings, reproducing specifications, creating airbill for shipment, and sending packages via mail or shipping company.
* Communication with subcontractors to verify receipt of bid packages, remind them of upcoming bid deadlines, and assist with answering questions regarding their projects.Â
*Â Work with Estimators to obtain pricing for specialty materials.
*Â Maintain departmental filing systems and subcontractor databases.
* Other responsibilities, as assigned by Management.

*Â Multi-tasking and organizational skills.
*Â Phone communication skills.
*Â Excellent follow-up skills.
* Computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, etc.).
*Â Use of basic office equipment (fax machine, copier, etc.)
